After 38 years, and a patching job ten years ago, a burst of heavy rain was too much for my roof, and replacing it was inevitable. I collected bids from several roofers, but only one understood the problem and worked with me to find a solution.
The problem was, my roof is covered by clay tiles, with very few that were broken. There was no reason to trash them. It was the underlayment that had rotted away. All bids except one quoted the same old felt underlayment that failed under the stress of our four distinct seasons. All roofers except one proposed to trash my tiles and replace them either with cheap asphalt tiles or exorbitantly expensive new clay or cement tiles.

Armando Cid has assembled a very competent efficient and courteous crew. Understanding that I wanted to re-use my tiles, and with more rains in the forecast, they first worked on the sections of the roof that had the worst damage to the underlayment and the plywood sheets under it. Every day they made sure that they leave the roof, paying special attention to the ridges, covered with the new top-of-the-line self-sealing underlayment, to shed the water in case of rain. Indeed they had to stop working for several days when rains came. And there were no leaks.
Yes they made a huge mess in the yard every day, and every day they cleaned up so you’d think they were never there. The only evidence of on-going work was the stacks of tiles on the roof and the porta-potty parked under the tree.
The workers were considerate. There never was the radio blaring and the loud bickering that typifies other crews working outdoors. The on-site crew chief and others happily answered all questions I had as the work was progressing.
Cid Roofing did the absolutely best possible job, and at the lowest cost of all the bids I received. In the past few years they have done jobs for my neighbors, and for others all over from Tahoe to Dayton and beyond. That’s significant because of the wide range of weather conditions. They have just done a great job for me; better than the original when the house was built. (It should last fifty years; longer than I or my heirs will.)

After 30 years of scorching Nevada summers and dust devils the size of mini tornados, we had CID replace our old roof. They went above and beyond to assure us another 30 years of protecting our home. They were neat and courteous, always left our exterior neat and clean and safe after each day's work.
